Record 12-bit 8K/60p and 4K/120p footage with 24-bit audio straight to your memory cards, along with Full HD proxy files.12-bit ProResRAW HQ and 10-bit ProRes 422 HQ are available in-camera (no accessory required), while Nikon’s N-Log color profile uses extensive color depth and dynamic range to give you more control for grading.

Built upon a sophisticated AF algorithm developed using deep learning technology, the Z 8 (like the Z 9) detects and tracks more subjects than any other mirrorless system. It combines subject detection with 3D Tracking for extremely fast acquisition and full-time tracking of fast, erratic subjects like flying birds. It’s capable of focusing in the lowest light—all the way down to -9.0 EV. Eye AF locks on to the eyes of people, pets and birds, and you can set custom focus areas for more control.

At just 2 lbs, the Z 8 is 30% smaller than the Z 9, 15% smaller than the D850 and ideal for handheld shooting or mounting to rigs and gimbals. It’s built from Seerebo carbon fiber and robust magnesium alloy, making it both durable and lightweight. Premium weather sealing protects against dust and moisture, while a sensor shield protects the sensor during lens changes. Illuminated buttons and warm display colors help when shooting in low light.
